I followed the steps by setting 'everyone' to 'read and write' and relaunched. I looked at the comment you pointed me too. To reset Launchpad on your Mac, go to the Finder on your Mac, then hold down the Option key and click on the Go menu. Seems minor but turning into a serious productivity issue.
