because the background is black, and my boots and gloves are black, i coloured some of the outlines (that are clear of the border) white so i could differentiate the black body parts from the background. I used the playertex_template as my base layer on photoshop and drew directly over it. I know skinning is pretty basic, but that's why i'm in this position i guess haha. Here are some things that might be a thing, but i'm new to self modding so i have no idea if it's an issue. When i went back and deleted that skin i corrected the small hiccough and added the real body file, it showed to be uploading but when i zoomed out to look, there was a flash of green (one of the main uniform colours) but as soon as i'm zoomed wide enough to see my figure's whole head it's just back to the default.and continues doing so regardless of the changes I've tried. first time i did it i accidentally put the playertex_template instead of my skin, and it worked! (even though it wasn't the desired result). I just want to test to see if the main body works so i've been using the other basic em and helm files to compile the unfinished bits while i check out how the body turned out. Please have the most recent version of Starmade too as well so i know it will help me. Heads up, I've tried so many fixes (deleting the preloads in client and server skins, deleting the shading png's from the custom skin containing folder to leave only the four, re-locating files, re making the smskin files).
